Yes, the wedding is over, the honeymoon is over - and now here I sit, back to reality with a bang.

I have already posted a brief report of the wedding over on my Livejournal, so click through if you’re curious, but as this is a work blog - I won’t say any more than this: It was utterly, utterly perfect. ^___^
On with the comics!

————

While I was away, I got a nice text from Kate Brown letting me know that issue 16 of the DFC had been taken over by Violet and the gang! Marking the start of the story arc, Violet took the front cover of the delectable and readable weekly anthology, and also the issue featured a Violet poster! I’m attaching a jpg of the poster here for you to see, and if you like it - it seems that the DFC have five special prints to give away in a competition…..I want one of those please! haha.

As always, check out the DFC site for info on the magazine, the stories, the artists, subsciptions and competitions!

The site also features some random goodies from the creators, such as this week’s ‘How to Draw Sneaky’ from the always amusing Laura Howell.
I have to share this little tidbit with you….Sneaky is after all the cleverest elephant in the world, and so disguise is no challenge to her….but who could she be disguised as here?

Awesome! Laura, you rule ^_^

Well, I’m off very soon for my wedding! I’ll be taking some work with me, but for the most part hope to relax, enjoy the day and enjoy the precious time afterwards with my new, shiny husband!
I’ll see you on the other side. ^_^

Violet all ready for the DFC

Next week (issue 13), Violet finally hits the pages of the DFC! WOOOO! Her run starts with reprints of her Guardian strips, but in just a couple of weeks’ time we’ll be starting on the actual Violet storyline. I really hope you can join the revolution and go subscribe to this amazing weekly comic….make Violet happy ^_^

Yep - the good ship MAAN is steaming away and I just completed a batch of 30 finished pages yesterday. *much rejoicing* Just 160 odd to go *wilt*
But - I feel up to the challenge!

While I get on with that, I wanted to share a taste of how the book is shaping up so far with you.

I’ve been working in spreads rather than single pages thanks to Manga Studio’s lovely page setup, so it feels weird seeing single pages here in the previews, hehe. The tone has done interesting things to page 1 when shrunk to a jpg, but you get the idea. ^_~ As you can see, this time we’re not in Space - hehe - but in the mountains of Italy, 1860.

So yeah - it’s all go. As always, graphic novel work can get very lonely *sniff sniff*, so I appreciate all of the nice comments so far, really! ^_^

Sadly, I couldn’t make it to San Diego Comic Con, but I have been reading some wonderful reports on reactions to the Comic Book Tattoo anthology that I was a part of. I am so excited about seeing the book itself I can’t explain. As many people know, I’m a huge Tori Amos fan, so my interest in reading the book is not only as a creator but as a raving fangirl as well. ^__^

A huge well done to the members of the team who made it over to SDCC and did such a great job of promoting it. And as always the hugest well dones have to go to Rantz Hoseley for putting the whole thing together and to Tori herself for being the inspiration that she is and for allowing us crazy comic creators to get our hands on her work.
